Handmade creations
In addition to my work with Reiki, readings, and energy work, I enjoy creating.
Travel, photography, working with people, and my love for nature and herbs come together in different ways in what I make.
I work primarily with natural materials, herbs, scent, form, and simplicity.
Creating brings me back to my hands, my senses, and the present moment. For me, it is a way to slow down.
Some creations are available to purchase, while others arise purely from curiosity, the joy of making, and the need to create something tangible.
I regularly take my work to markets and events.
Eyepillows
Handmade eye pillows filled with organic lavender and flaxseed
These handmade eye pillows are designed to support relaxation and calm. The flaxseed filling gently molds to the face, while the subtle scent of lavender helps you take a moment for yourself.
They are ideal during yoga, lying meditation, or simply as a moment of rest in bed or on the couch. Even when placed next to you, they continue to release a soft, natural lavender scent.
The eye pillows are approximately 11 x 22 cm and weigh around 150 grams, with a filling of 50% lavender and 50% flaxseed.
Some models are slightly smaller or lighter, others slightly fuller and heavier, depending on the fabric and filling.
Each eye pillow has a removable cover made of 100% cotton.
They can be used both warm and cold:
– Heat for about 30 seconds in the microwave for a warming effect.
– Place in the freezer for 1–2 hours for use as a cold compress.
The eye pillows are available in different fabrics and designs. Some examples are shown in the photos.
On request, they are also available with rosemary or other herbal variations.
How it started
I made the first eye pillows for myself during yoga and meditation. I noticed how calming it felt to literally cover my eyes for a moment and create stillness.
Today I also use them during treatments and sessions, and I make them for others with great pleasure. I regularly take them with me to markets and events.
Fragrance stones
Handmade fragrance stones / diffuser stones
These fragrance stones are made of porcelain plaster and are suitable for smaller spaces such as a desk, bedside table, bathroom, or in a camper or caravan.
The plaster absorbs essential oils well and slowly releases the scent over time. With just 2–3 drops of oil, the stone gently diffuses a subtle fragrance for an extended period.
Depending on your needs, you can use different essential oils, such as rosemary for focus and inspiration, lavender for relaxation, or lemongrass for a fresh and uplifting atmosphere.
The small flower shapes are mounted on wood but are also available separately.
The wood comes from trees that have already been pruned, such as eucalyptus from Spain, and maple and birch from the Netherlands.
How it started
The idea for these fragrance stones came during a camper trip. At that time, I became aware of how important scent and atmosphere are in my surroundings, but also how limited space and facilities can be in a camper.
I had previously used different fragrance products, such as diffuser stones for lamps, oil burners with candles and water, and electric diffusers.
While traveling, the desire grew to create something simpler, more natural, and usable without electricity.
My love for flowers also plays an important role: their shape, rhythm, and scent inspire me. At some point, the question naturally arose: how can I create a fragrance carrier in the shape of a flower?
Herbs & experiments
Seasonal creations with herbs, fruits & experiments
My creations often evolve with the seasons, using herbs from the garden, from walks in nature, or through experiments in the kitchen and while traveling.
Not everything I make is intended for sale. I enjoy working with juices, syrups, and tinctures, and I also occasionally make liqueurs.
Sometimes I create something specifically for someone, for example for a sore throat or as support during a particular moment. Other times, I make something as a gift or simply out of curiosity.
Some experiments naturally fade away again, while others develop into new creations.
At the moment, I am exploring fermentation and working more deeply with living processes in food and drink.
And not everything works out the first time — that is part of the process. It is also what makes it so interesting and enjoyable. For example, I once tried to make ginger beer. I tested different recipes and variations, but so far it hasn’t worked. Maybe next time.
Markets & events
I occasionally take my creations to small-scale markets and events in the Netherlands, where they can be seen, touched, and experienced in real life.
